Computer scientist (f/m/d) focus on engineering secure systems

Your tasks

You are part of the KASTEL Security Research Labs and do research within the Topics "Engineering Secure Systems" of the Helmholtz Association. You will be engaged in research tasks in the field of cryptography with applications for privacy-preserving computations in a production context.

Results of your research will be both theoretical security concepts (e.g., protocol design, security proofs) and their practical implementation (e.g., demonstrators). In addition, you will support the management of the ESS research group "Secure Computation and Communication". This includes assisting with research projects, organizing meetings and workshops, and writing project reports and research proposals. Furthermore, the supervision of seminar papers and theses is part of your job.

In addition to the scientific work, there is the possibility of a doctorate.

Your qualifications

You have a university degree (Diplom (Uni) / Master) in computer science or a directly related field. Furthermore, expertise in privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols and the Universal Composability Framework is desired. A solid background in mathematics, especially in algebra, is an advantage. An interest in interdisciplinary research is also desirable. Personally, you are characterized by an independent, structured way of working and a high degree of reliability. You also bring initiative, flexibility and strong communication and teamwork skills.
